  • B6 questions

I have a second gen b6 block from a 323 and am running the B3 cpu. I want to get a B6 computer now, does it matter if the computer from the donor car is auto or manual? My fest is a 4 speed. And will any b6 computer work? Capri, 323, Protege?

Some seem to not notice the difference when they engine swap and keep the ecu the same. Are you having issues with your swap running right?

I am no expert but I believe that manual trans ECU's are 2-plug and auto trans ECU's are 3 plug. I am running a manual ECU from a B8-ME Protege in my B6-ME MX-3 swapped Festy. It runs great and averages 42 MPG.

I'm not experiencing any issues that I believe would be related to the ecu but I've just heard it would be more efficient, and have more power if I used a B6 ecu.

There's a 92 auto MX-3 I was going to take the ecu from at a local pick-n-pull but I was waiting to confirm.

I cannot seem to get the idle right on my B6-me, so I think I'm going to grab the ecu from a manual mx3 today. We'll see what happens.

You could always just dump the stock IAC and use the idle screw on the throttle body. I always do that to any car I've bought.

I HATE ECU controlled IACs. There is one I want to try in the future that is standalone from Nissan, but I have not yet.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

I got an extra 4mpg getting the ecu, and got a drastic improvement from swapping the vaf.

Well apparently the ecu was gone so I'm stuck with what I've got for now.

Well I believe I was wrong about the ecu being gone. The ecu is probably there, but I was looking at the wrong area. I was looking up underneath the dash when its actually in the center console by the radio. *Facepalm* I was thinking too much like a Festiva. I'll check this out when I have a chance
