so after about a month of thinking and searching junkyards and CL i decided that my 97 needs a new heart and picked up a 1.8 sohc motor and 5 speed tranns from a 1993 protege with 160xxx for $70. Didn't have much time and just got the motor, tranny, front shocks, cv axles, and some other odds and ends, i'll be making another trip to pull the wiring harness and ecu. But i have some issues i need help with starting with 1 the head, i'm looking for a dohc head so my question is will the wiring harness work from the sohc and if not what do i need to make it work, 2 best gasket kit top to bottom that may one day holding boooooost, 3 is there any good engine management systems out there that will work 4 do i need a dohc ecu or will the sohc ecu work? And if someone that has done a swap would be willing to pm me or email me with some helpful words of wisdom that would be great!
