  • Hydraulic G Series Trans?

Does anyone have any info on doing a Hydraulic g series swap? I have an Escort GT and was hoping to get by without sourcing a cable g series from a Capri XR2.
    Thanks.

Im not sure specifically what you are looking for but when i did mine (donor was a protege) i had to drill a few holes in the firewall to mount the clutch master, plus i had to source a remote reservoir for the clutch because it doesn't have its own (on the protege the clutch master shares fluid with the brake master). I used a little brake reservoir from a sport bike. I also had to remove the clutch pedal and drill a hole in it so i could mount the clutch rod on the pedal.
its a fairly straightforward deal but its in a difficult place to drill holes with the engine installed, plus everybody knows working in the footwell with the seat in place sucks too.

Okay, sounds super easy, just looks tight by the booster so I didn't know if anyone has tried it and found that it just wasn't worth it. Thanks.

Sucks, I JUST bolted my dash back in like 45 minutes ago, haha.

You can do it with the dash in.

One other option is to build a bracket for the cable and use it on the trans. There's several threads on here that shows brackets that were fabbed.

I found you can just take the resevior and remove it from the protege and swap it on to the festiva master easily.
