  • Turbo with factory manifold?

Found this turbo on ebay, Looks like it would bolt up to the factory exhaust manifold of the B3. I have attached a picture of the measurements. Does anyone have measurements of the factory flange or the gasket?

I think it'd be too low for the oil drain.

Aspire or festiva manifold. I have a festiva manifold I could measure.

Aspire but are the manifolds the same?

No. Not even remotely. The heads are the same, meaning the gaskets are the same, but the manifolds are not. One is cast iron, one is tube welded. Festiva and aspire respectively.

I was about 5 minutes away from buying enough material to build an awesome b3 turbo manifold this morning. Are you interested at all? I have one aspire flange in my possession that's begging to get welded to.

Yeah but the flange is the same so it would bolt up to either one.

You can drill out the manifold holes a little bit. Also, if you flip your manifold upside down you can slap the turbo on top.

It won't bolt on upside down

You could always buy the turbo, and using power tools you could machine a flange that matches, then have someone weld it to your aspire manifold. If all else fails

Zephthechef did that. He had to cut his hood a bit.

                          44mm, that's schedule 10 1.25 inch pipe I.d.

But he chopped the runners off and welded them back on upside down.

Indeed. It was actually a double-flip sort of. Because I had a "gonzo pipe" that 180'd back down into the turbo. The turbo would stick WAY out of the hood if you just flipped the manifold and put it on there.
