ok first post here lol. anyways, i managed to fit a ko3 turbocharger off a 1.8l passat to my 1995 aspire and it seems to be running good so far (i only drove it 20 miles last night) my question is how long can i run without a intercooler and what supporting mods am i missing other than the intercooler to make it relatively reliable? so far ive backed the timing off, running 92 octane, added a rising rate fuel pressure regulator, and its about 20 degrees outside pretty much constantly lol

Welcome to the forum! Thanks for posting, a lot of members on here want to run a turbo like you are running. How much boost are you running? An intercooler may be pointless if you are running less than 10psi.
Please post a build thread in the "garage" section. It's great to see everones different ideas and see their progress. A build thread will make it easier for you to get accurate suggestions to help you achieve your specific goals.Last edited by Advancedynamix; 12-12-2016, 01:08 PM.Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. Right on! That would be fun. A little more info would be great and the forum has a search feature and a bunch of guys have put a turbo on the b3. You can find their threads and see what happened.
But ya, under 10psi should be safe and fun with no intercooler on a b3 with the other stuff you have done. How high do you want to go?

well that's a load off my mind lol id like to push around 12-15psi eventually when i have all the right supporting mods currently its running on stock wastegate pressure somewhere in the neighborhood of 8 pounds im guessing i don't have a boost gauge atm i bought one but it hasn't come in the mail yet. also, what wire is the signal wire to the ecu from the o2 sensor i bought an afr gauge but i want to be sure which wires are which before i dive in there.

I wouldn't plan on pushing much more boost unless you're okay with losing an engine. The b3 has never been known to hold up to much for long. 8-10 psi on a healthy engine with decent tuning should last a while.
Don't bother running a narrowband gauge off the stock o2 sensor...100% useless. Get a wideband kit. $150 for an innovate mtx-l.
You said you're running a rising rate regulator for fuel. What are you doing for timing? At the very least I'd back off the distributor a few degrees.91GL BP/F3A with boost
13.79 @ 100, 2.2 60' on 8 psi and 155R12's

He did back the timing off, how far back from the factory spec would you go since he is using 92 octane?
What rate are you using on the fuel pressure regulator?
