  • Turbo Charging..

Hey guys, I have a quick question.. I'm thinking of addind a "low-buck" turbo system to my festiva.. junkyard turbo.. cheap manifold.

I have a 89' carb. festiva. What all do i need to make this system work? the BARE nessacities..

    ANY help appreciated greatly..

    Thanks!

Find a running carpi xr2 or 323 gt. If not you will have alot of fab work to do, but by the link on your sig thats what you do.

Are you going to keep the carb? Blow through or suck?

    Switch to FI?

Where do you want the power band?

Are you going to run hot air or intercooled?

i want to go the easiest route possible..

      hot air.

      carb.

blow throw or suck (whichever is easiest..) ((what do you think?))

and yeah i can make all sorts of stuff

      so what do you think?

would a manifold off a 323 fit my festiva? just use that setup?

One that's small and dont look to be push alot of oil or have bad shaft play would be a good choice. Also may wanna at least invest in a fmu.

Suck through then, get a side draft carb attach it pre-turbo. Run the oil lines. etc, etc

Yeah you would want a small turbo for normal driving so you dont get a sudden surge of power. If you want something alittle bigger get a 13b out of a 1st gen DSM Auto. While your at that car get the blow-off/bypass valve. They are the best cheapskate BOV.

What about more fuel? Would getting a bigger jet for the carb. work or what would I need to do there?

That's a T3 and would be far too big for a B3. I would go with the Audi turbo over anything else... that's a small and very efficient turbo capable of pushing some decent power.
