The stock fuel management system does not handle boost very well."The White Turd" 1993 Festiva 144k miles. (Winner of FOTM November 2016)

Now if you are dead set on making more power out of the B3 then you are better off taking the head and Port and Polishing it and then get some custom Headers and advance the timing a few degrees. If you really want to spend the money then get the head cut for bigger valves as well as have a custom cam built.Last edited by firebush357; 04-25-2018, 12:28 PM."The White Turd" 1993 Festiva 144k miles. Old,Old school when Callaway first started doing turbo kits for VW rabbit. They used a hobbs switch to turn on the cold start injector.when in boost , No it wasn't real precise mixture control, too rich a lot of the time but it gave enough fuel to keep from going lean.I do not know how to trick the ignition into limiting total advance, but, too rich and limiting boost might just be enough to keep you out of detonation zone anyway. A rising rate fuel pressure regulator would be another idea. I have also seen this done succesfully on a stupid fast VW passat with a procharger on it, He used a pressure switch and remote control car lipro batterys on boost the extra batteries cam in to play supplying extra voltage to the fuel pump making it spin faster and provide more fuel.It worked I rode in the car it was insane fast.I can still get ahold of him if you need more info,30 + Vehicle projects right now.7 Festiva/Mazda 10 GM IDK how many others, hope that helps explain all the stupid questions/shortcuts/interchanges etc. trying to liquidate so I concentrate on the good ones. Goal finish 1 amonth using as much stuff as I already have accumulated.

How would i regulate it swap out the pulley?Originally posted by Dragonhealer View PostIf you want serious power, swap in a B6T.
But a fun, useful power increase can be had at an intermediate level of complexity, and blower bragging rights, with a properly geared blower, regulated to 4psi boost MAX on a STOCK B3 efi system.

Pulley size is how you match a blower to an engine at a particular target boost, the control valve is adjusted/calibrated to set max boost.
Sorry I don't have time to find you some links, I'm up to the elbows in a land speed car.
Google blower theory, how to size a blower...No car too fast !

*Bump* Gimmie gimmie gimmie!
Thread poster you rule! I've been waiting for someone to try this!
I'll give this one a big try for my new glowspire! What'd yall think? Amr 300 or the smog pump?
For a B3 98 Spire. Their heads and block are more solid or so I've been told.
Would like a little nip of extra power to get up those hills.
Sorry if i thread jacked a little.Raising the bar for compact cars around the world.
