Here is a Mazda engine swap guide. The capri did come with a 1.6DOHC that wasn't turbo'd. And the BP engines are 1.8 displacement. Where the B6 family is 1.6 displacement.

engine ?'s
So the b3 is 1.3 sohc
the b6 is 1.6 sohc
is there a 1.6 dohc?
So the b6t is sohc?
and the bp is 1.8 dohc?
was there a stock bpt?
do you have cut firewall to get the bp in a festiva?
You just need the wiring harness, computer, and the trans and the custom motor mount to get a b6t in, is that right?
thanks for the info guys.
I've been dreaming of swaps since 91 when I got my first festiva.youtube.com/neanderpaul 88 festiva LX w/BP G25 MR 5 speed waiting for wiring- 93 Festiva GL auto w/ air, waiting for B6t/G4A-HL - 98 Nissan Quest - 02 Mazda protege 5 wife's DD

There is a SOHC B6 and a DOHC B6, I believe the DOHC b6 came in capri's because I have seen one in one. The SOHC I believe was in mazda 323's look at that swap guide link that matt posted, all the info is there.
There was a stock BPT but it was only overseas I believe. You don't have to cut the firewall for the BP if you make all custome mounts and put in the bigger tranny (you would have to make all 3 mounts anyways for this). But if you are just putting in the engine with the stock festiva tranny you have to make a small hole about 7 inches by 4 inches, its show in great detail on matts cardomain site for his blue festiva.
You cut the firewall push back that piece of metal, and either weld it or find something else to fill in the hole, so there should be about a 3/4" to 1" depression for the hole.
