  • Vacuum/pollution help please

Hi, long time stalker admiring everyone else's work has inspired me to attempt my own conversion. Overheating issues in my b3 also helped my decision. So I purchased a second hand b6-me from a Ford laser and proceeded to follow bits of information from people on this forum and successfully bolted it in the car a couple of weeks ago. I have however ran into trouble when attempting to splice the Laser carby into the car - it touches the firewall. I went hunting for a second hand 32/36 and adapter but struggling to find one I can afford. So I had an idea today to run the original b3 carby if it fits, which it does, everything fits perfect BUT it is a much simpler version of the carby and it leaves A LOT of plastic vacuum lines I have no idea what to do with. Anyone had experience with this? What do i do?

Touches the firewall? Pictures please. B3 is a feedback carb. It needs a computer with all the vacuum lines. Choose any another carb.

How important are emission control devices in your jurisdiction? If you don't have to get tested you may just be able to plug the hoses. What do they say about engine swaps? Does that change the limits the engine has to meet?

I'm not sure what you mean?

Sorry about the late reply, I've been busy at work. Managed to get in the shed today though. I pulled both monifolds off and put them side by side so I could copy the pollution set-up from the B3 and delete what I didn't need with plugs and screws or whatever worked tbh. Then I put the modified B6 manifold back on with the B3 carb. Turned key and started immediately. Shocked. Sounds pretty reasonable in the shed. I had to run vacuum lines to slightly different manifold points so it will be a bit of trial and error from here I think. Might let the poor bloke at the dyno-tune sort it haha. I only have a couple of things left to do before I can drive it, exhaust, heater hose, put coolant in and change the oil/filter. [emoji2][emoji111]
