Alternator Question

I was wondering what the Alternator has on the overall performace of the car, so if you were to put a higher grade one in or "better" one what would be the difference?

doesn't make a diff on the performance of the car, unless you are overloading the one you currently have, or your alternator is going out. if your alternator goes out, you won't be driving lol. if you have added alot of stereo equipment or lights then you may need to upgrade to a higher amp output alternator...other than that the only impact quality has on it will be how long it lasts. keep in mind, if you alternator goes bad and your battery goes flat DO NOT just replace the alternator and jump start the car to recharge the battery, that's the fastest way to kill an alternator the first day you install it ( well maybe dousing it with water while it's running would be faster lol) :twisted:
