There is an ad in a local rag for custom made aluminum radiators, and I've thought about having one (or more, possibly to get a better price on each) made for my Festiva(s).
Before I even address the cost (I'm guessing around 3 to 4 hundred dollars and UP), I should ask about the advantages and disadvantages of them.
The Aspire radiator can be used with minimal mods (moving two brackets), and someone has put in a Honda radiator from what I've seen here.
I'd want one that is about the size of the Aspire stock radiator, but lighter in weight. It seems this should do well to keep about any possible engine size cool enough in any season. The light weight is mainly for my '93GL with automatic & A/C, since it seems awfully front heavy. I'd like to lighten that front end as much as possible to go with my eventual B6.
If there are more advantages than disadvantages, I might eventually spring for two or three of these, for future Festivas/Aspires.
Am I daft? For all I know they would be over $500 apiece! I haven't checked yet.
