woops, made a mistake in my post. Please re-read. I meant that the B3 tranny seems strong enough and you get the added benefit of low weight. How true is this?
Thanks.
BP powered 91 Festiva L
-FMS springs, GR2 struts, Toyo T1R 195/45/14 on Swift GT alloys
-Trunk mounted gel battery
-Suzuki Swift GT seats, Grant GT steering wheel, auto-locks
-Blaupunkt Melbourne deck with Bluetooth, sealed single 12" sub
I have heard the b3's being too weak for the b6t engine but I am not sure about the 1.8, I think it would be managable if you don't beat on it and don't make too much more power over stock.
Put it this way.. I have a built BP, 4 puck clutch and a Festiva trans.. Surprisingly the trans held up longer than the 3/16 plate steel fabbed passenger side motor mount. I didn't make it, but I will have to make it's replacement.

So you're saying that you never broke the tranny, just the mount? If so that settles it for me. B3 tranny unless you want to drag race!

if you can get good at slipping the clutch you could run good times with the factory trans, i just wanted the ability to absolutely abuse and have the 4.10 final gear ratio the g5mr has.
1992 Festiva... BP-T, Escort G5MR, no crossmember, aspire brakes, Megasquirt, Toyota COP's, coilovers and 6 puck SPEC clutch!
