B3 Engine

:? I have always wonder why anyone here don't like the B3, I think is an economic and good strong engine (if it has been well maintained).
My little green devil B3 is gone, but this is because the previous owner was a girl who only puts gas on it and nothing more, and Finally is my turn to resurrect it. I was thinking on buying a B5(here in Central America we have a 1500cc B series Mazda engine) which is cheaper than a B3( don't ask me why, but all big engines are cheaper here than the small ones, and also the engines don't pay sells taxes here), but the fuel economy end it up convincing me of keeping the B3.
I would like to know if anybody has modify this sweet engine, and if someone did, please tell what can be done??? By the way I really really really hate the festi original carburator!!!!!! may be a SU or a Webber one would be nice, but which one???

I have heard more than one festiva owner say they got better fuel economy from the b6. Probably because it doesn't work as hard. Some people here do build the b3. Eye of RA has started a lot of controversy here with the extreme build he is undertaking with his b3. Festiva motorsport sells a cam for the b3. Do searches here.

I had a B6 in mine (1600cc) for a while and I was getting 45 MPG compared to the 42 I was getting with the B3. carbon is right, its because the B6 doesn't have to work nearly as hard to get the car moving... now I have a BP (1800cc) and I'm only getting about 35MPG, but I also cut my 0-60 time by more than half

Does someone knows what can be done to a B3 to make it more fun, a carb one by the way??????
