Will the hood clear?

I've got an intake tube from an Aspire i'm going to be using for my open-element filter install, my question is before i even start...will the hood close over the tube? The Festy one is flattened on top and i asume this is because of hood clearance. I've got no problem cutting the hood to make it fit, just wondering if it's necessary.

and if it doesnt do what i did and cut the smalll t out of the hood skeleton.. you can do it with tin snips
