  • Cheaper Pacesetter option

Since the $.99 civic shifters work....is there any reason we can't use the pacesetter for the civic? It's a LOT cheaper than the one listed on FMS for the Festiva. I've already got the $.99 civic shifter in my car so going back to stock isn't an option(cut the spring to fit it)...was considering this.

Yeah I am sure that the pacesetter shifter for the civic should work fine, you already know about the slight difference in ball size

Somehow that thought never crossed my mind. I wonder if the overall length is the same between the Civic short shifter and the one FMS sells which I beleive is for a first gen Ford Probe

I don't know if this will help but the Escort shifter also fits in the Festiva. My son and I just installed one from a '95 Scort last weekend (the ball is slightly larger and we used the Festi bushings no spring cutting required)

It may be good to experiment with different JY shifters like the EGT, etc.

Here is a link to an article comparing the Pacesetter to the Stillen Honda shifters:

Maybe someone can glean some info from it?
