  • B6D vs. B6T difference in internals

My B6D broke the bottom end off of the #4 piston. The piston is ground into tiny pieces, the rod is broken, and the crank is scored. Short version, I need a new block and possibly a head.

My B6D was from a 92 capri. I have a lead on a 92 capri XR2 with no manifolds. I also have a lead on a 91 NA capri that has been sitting for two weeks with no valve cover. The turbo motor would be cheaper.

What is the difference in the internals of these two engines? I'm mostly concerned with the compression being the same. I searched and could only find people guessing.

OK. The B6D has 9:1 so the B6T pistons are going to be different. Hopefully the rain in the valvecover on the NA engine won't have hurt it too much.
