  • under drive pullies

I was wondering if they sell underdrive pullies for a festy? I know the alternator does not take much to run but when you have a system it still takes it's toll on your gas mileage.

Not that i know of.....you could have some machined at a CNC place i suppose but "one off" pullies would probably set you back 235 dollars or so. You could do an engine swap for that.

You're better off spending your money elsewhere. The waterpump only takes a small amount of power, and it's too vital to risk. The alternator determines load based on electrical use, not rpm, so it doesn't matter.

Engine swap, cam, header, light flywheel, pretty much anything would give better gains than an underdrive pulley.

just as a note i bought one for a 1.8L miata and had the power steering section machined off for my EGT 1.8L swapped car, only to come to the conclusion that miatas use a ribbed belt for the alternator while escorts use a v-belt...

just a note in case anyone tries to go that route lol

I have an Unorthodox Racing under drive pulley on my BP. It's a bit lighter than the stock pulley, but other than that, I wouldn't say it added hp.

Oh and my BP has all multi groove pulleys.

Yeah, not a lot of accessories on a 1.3L to even worry about underdrive pulleys.
