  • OBD II - Connector

Has anyone here ever wired up the connector for an OBD II? There is some instrumentation I would like to install that requires OBD II.

For a festiva? You probally could hook up the entire harness from a late model aspire into the festy. My question is why?

I wanna get something called a scangauge. Look at scangauge.com It looks like you can use it to provide any sort of instrumentation you want. It will tell you everything.

There has to be a way that the OBD II can be just spliced in.

I dont think so. The ECU's are different. The airflow sensors are too.

OBD I and OBD II are completely different systems. There is no way to simply "splice in" to gather OBD II style data from an older system. You're dealing with differences in the type of hardware, it's complexity, and very different operating code.

You can gather a lot of data from an OBD I system though. Most scan tools will give you what you need.
