I need help?? BP problem

hey guys, i was wondering my festy which has the bp 1.8l engine cuts out at like 5000 rpm, but when i let go of the gas it comes back again. im using the esort gt computer and stuff. i was wondering if this is a fuel problem. if it is can you let me know how i can fix it. also i dont want to change the fuel pump cause i really cant get to it without it being a pain because of all my fibergalss pieces. so if there is a way i can do something external please let me know.

sounds like something with the VICS maybe? I know its supposed to kick on at around 5K... don't know exactly what the problem could be though, maybe a short somewhere in the wiring?

Try unplugging the VICS and see if that is your problem.

It is the white connector on the pasengers side of the intake manifold. It changes the runner length when the rpm's get in the 4000+ range.

^^^ thats what I thought it stood for too, but I also remember reading the words "Variable Induction Charging System" somewhere (may have been clubprotege but I'm not sure)... what the heck would that even mean???

If its a swapped BP you extended the wires of the VAF harness. Did you by chance splice the fatest wire out of the group (the shielded wire) and butt-crimped the outer and inner wires together? Because that will give you the same result.
