    Hey matt,

You interested in doing a protege tranny swap into my festiva this august? I will drive the car down with transmission, and leave it as long as you need (2 weeks?) and pay you 200 bucks? Whats your price?

I live in NY, so if anyone in the area, has done this swap and is interested in giving me a quote, you can email me at:

I'd like to but no room in the garage. I have a 2 car garage and keep the festiva and mustang in there. I live in a bad neighborhood so I could never leave those cars outside. Next winter I will be finding a place for 1 or both of the cars to be stored so I can work on the next festiva so I may have room then if you want to wait, then we may be able to work something out.

Doesn't the protege tranny have a hydraulic clutch? A hydraulic clutch will severely complicate a tranny swap since now you have a pedal swap which may not be the same.

I've never done this swap. The most work will be lining everything up and fabricating the mounts. This all would be easier with a stripped down engine and tranny in the car and nothing else installed, not on a drivable car.

thought it was the right tranny

I thought the protege was the transmission we were using in the festivas? What is the tranny out of that you used??? If that is the case, then I might just have to sell this protege I bought:-)

Tell me the tranny I need, and from what year/make/model, and maybe we can make arrangements for the winter...

I still have the stock festiva tranny in mine. The tranny you want is from a capri xr2 or a 323 gt. These are the cable clutch g series trannies. If I do a b6t or bpt in the future I may try to figure out how the hydraulic clutch could be adapted to the festivas. These trannies are more plentiful.

              yeah

Yes I would, you wouldn't happen to have a mount for a BP would you:-) I know you don't but im still looking for someone to make it for me. Will that mount work with the BP installed, or would the tranny be sitting in a different spot?

B6T you have done the swap right? Would you be interested in doing a swap for me for about 200 bucks? Whats your price, your alot closer to me than mattwebb, your near toronto right? I live in NY. Im trying to find someone to do the swap this fall, maybe winter...
