What engine is the MX6 GT turbo engine? Looks like a turbo charged festiva engine... I might get a running full car for 100 bucks so wondering if it would swap in.

its a 2.2L... definitely not a direct bolt up to the festiva, although I think I read somewhere (probably miata forums) that the turbo will bolt up to the BPT's manifold and is considered an upgrade. Also, the fact that its not a direct bolt up to the festiva doesn't necessarily mean that it can't be done just that it would be difficult and require custom axles is all.No festiva for me ATM...

^^^ I was assuming the use of the probe/MX6 trans, hence the need for custom axles... I guess you could get away with Capri or 323GT axles if you could figure out a way to get a clutch and adaptor plate to mate a G25MR to the 2.2 though. No festiva for me ATM...

its possible to do but you have to use and MX3 1.8L v6 K8 transmission and capri axles, the K8 uses the 2.5 v6 & 2.0/2.2 4cyl motor bellhousing on a g series transmission meaning you can use the capri axles, otherwise, the spline counts are different, after that your on your own for the wiring lol
for what its worth, ive done the research and its possible to put a KLZE 2.5L v6 into an aspire (more engine bay room) via the same method, i may try this in my aspire once my red festy is done.1992 Festiva... BP-T, Escort G5MR, no crossmember, aspire brakes, Megasquirt, Toyota COP's, coilovers and 6 puck SPEC clutch!
T3/T4 Turbo Power! G5MR and BP since '04!
