I guess you noticed the small cut out in the center of the spoiler where the spray nozzle goes.

I had a heck of a time running the hose, it took me about an hour. Then packrat told me his slid right in the first time and it took him about 7 seconds  You might need a hose coupler so you can run a little hose off of the nozzle before you stick it in the hole then couple it with the hose from the reservoir. It might be hard to connect the hose from the reservoir to the nozzle once its installed.

                Nice job !!

I just put a small hook bend on a coat hanger and ran it from the top down to the bottle , hooked the hose onto it and pulled it up into place .

The upwards bend , helped the hose from pulling off , as I pulled it up thru the rear pillar ... Good luck

I was getting ready to drill a hole in my hatch so I could install a rear wiper/washer in Redford (1990L ) today then I remembered that when I tried to install a cargo light latch in this car that the wiring for the latch wasn't there. I took the rear trim panel off just to make sure before I drilled a hole in the hatch and found there is no wiring for the rear wiper. This is the first festiva Ive worked on that didn't have the wiring in place for the latch and the rear window wiper. :? Just fair warning for anyone wanting to do this upgrade.

                          exact dimensions

I have a stripped down hatch that had a wiper motor in it.
I took the following measurements with my digital Mitutoyo vernier calipers.
The hole is an oval. The width is exactly 1.089" and the height is exactly 1.266".
                          Regards.

Since the hole is oval shaped you could probably split the difference between the 2 measurements and go with a 1 1/8" hole saw.

im looking at doing this, how do you seal up the hole where the wiper comes through?

Since mine is a 93 im assuming everything is there and i just need to drill 2 holes, plug things in and run tubing to the sprayer? Am i missing anything there?

Check your wires first, its easy, just pull the rubber hatch boot back and take a look. A quarter ( 25 cents ) is the hole size. Running the hose for the sprayer is difficult. Use some silicone to seal the hole for the wiper. The hole for the spray nozzle will be modified with a small notch at the bottom of the hole. I can get a pic if you need it.
