Boots and consoles

This has probably been asked and answered before, but I can't find it.

Is the auto console the same as a manual console with just the rubber boot being the difference?

Or more to the point, can I fit a rubber manual boot into an auto console?

yup, i bought a manual boot/retainer clip and put it in an auto console

console is the same, you just need a boot, i used a chrome ring base that screws on and fits great from ebay, i think it was made by ractive? got it for like 99 cents..
