  • Removing.. and reinstalling- seat upholstery

Has anyone safely removed the upholstery off there seats, and then reinstalled it? without messing anything up? is there anything fancy pulling the fabric around the curves on the bottom of the seat?

need to know... ive got some goodies coming in the mail that will require taking off the upholstery and putting it back on nicely for installation

I do know you will need a set of hog ring pliers , to make it easier .

That is what they use to remove and reinstall the rings that hold the covers on .

not to sound cheap, but that would work, but buy some black zap straps they are stronger than the white ones. if you want to go cheap go around the whole seat with duct tape lol

I think zip ties would break.

all article i've read say to let the new upholstery sit in the sun for awhile ( or maybe a heatlamp in winter) to soften the vinyl allowing it to be pulled on more easily.

Zip ties work perfectly. I used them on my 04 WRX wagon when I installed seat heater elements on them.
