Swap inst. clusters?

Can you swap a white tack. cluster into a early orange non tack cluster car and everything work? Can you swap the non tack cluster in to a 91 white cluster car and it work?

My old car is a 91 and the new car is a 89. I want to swap all my good stuff into the new one. Instead of hunting down orange equipment.

Some 88's had problems with not having the tach wiring. Other than that yeah swap them out.

I swapped (tach cluster) one into my 89 L and it worked no problem!

Does this matter if one is carbed and one is EFI?

No. Should not matter if carb or EFI. Wiring is the same. I just wanted to be sure the wiring was the same.
