  • Mazda Protege power mirror install

I bought some NOS protege power mirrors off of ebay. Good day to mess around in the garage so I tried installing one. Its not an exact swap but with a little adapting they can be made to work. The paint matched up perfect.

Me ? have a picture Of course. I had to put my old power mirrors back on until I can get the right side mirror ( which is silver ) painted "Blaze Red".

Probably needs a second rubber gasket or a thicker rubber gasket or even a little sealant for a good water tight fit. It doesnt fit the window curve exactly. But it will work and looks decent. I had to modify the inside trim piece some too. The old mirrors will still go right back on like before also.

I'm working on my "tripower mirror" mod right now. All THREE mirrors, including the inside one, will be POWER operated! Instead of reaching UP to adjust the inside mirror by hand, you'll reach under the dash to operate the switch for it.

                So cool!

And after that's finished: POWER GLOVE COMPARTMENT!!

This is off the topic, but remember swivel seats ? That would be sweet in a festiva.

Install complete, the extra rubber gasket was the ticket. Fits real tight now. If anyone ever wants to do the same install Ive got lots of pics. It works real well. Sorry the car is dirty, its winter you know ?
