When I tried this I did not like the rake of the mirrors and the way it caused my vision to be limited. If anyone is going to do the same then I suggest that you check the adjustment of the power mirror glass before drilling too many holes. Make sure the glass moves enough for you to see the road behind you. I could not see properly without adjusting the glass all the way in toward the car...even then I could have used a little more room. Shims could make it better so I would not rule out the upgrade but just wanted to share my personal experience with everyone.

I ended up buying some Canadian 323 Familia mirrors from ebay that actually worked perfectly though.
I'm going to come at you like a spider monkey!

Ive used both the protege and 323 mirrors and had good luck with both of them. Here is a link to the 323 mirror install.

Thought they were protege when I started the thread but found out they were 323s.

The protege and the 323 mirrors were almost identical. Below is a picture of 1990 LX festiva mirror beside the 323 mirror.

I tried this, went to the 'yard today, got some mirrors, came home, went to work, got stumped, read this thread... Just for reference everyone- 626 mirrors do NOT work. I forgot it was supposed to be protege or 323's :confused3:
