Festiva Gas Door Magnets? Lock alternative?

Anyone know what magnets would work with the festiva gas door to keep it shut and open that way with a knob instead of the key lock it has? Has anyone done this if so please help with any info on what you used, thank you.

WHAT??? And take the chance of gas thieves siphoning $20 worth of gas (assuming they hit just after a fill-up)? Assuming your OEM Fort Knox grade lock is inoperative, any small block style magnet and some epoxy should work. or Velcro. or chewing gum.

I would try hit’n up a junk yard see if you can find a car with a similar one.
as for a key? Maybe that might not work, but there are some kinds without a key.
just an idea..
At the yard I go to they zap strap the keys up in under the dash near the steering column
