Cig lighter illumination?

I have a 1993 L model, there is a green ring around the cig lighter, but no light. Did some models ever have a light bulb in the cig lighter or ashtray? I pulled the radio and don't see a place for a light. AI told me it should have one, but AI is very often wrong.

I have owned eight different Festivas since I bought my first one new in 1990 and I have never heard of one having a light around the cigarette lighter.
