Hatch questions?

I'm getting ready to paint the car and have decided to pick up a new hatch as rust along the base of the window seems to have worked its way in behind the metal. Just a few questions regarding the hatch.

1-probably a stupid question but are body parts/hatchs interchangable between all years?

2-How complicated would it be to install a hatch with a wiper? Current is only heated.

3- What would a decent price for a hatch from the wreckers be? The local one has one listed with spoiler at $450 which is insane to say the least.

The hatches should all interchange. The wiper should be plug and play. The $450 one has a $200 spoiler on it! But tha is still expensive.

450 is robbery.

i paid 40 for one with rear def. then i paid 20 for a rear washer setup, then i got a spoiler for $5 lol

thanks, I'm going to call around and see if I can find a cheaper hatch nearby, theres plenty of festivas around here so I'm sure there will be at least a couple more hatches around.

I bought a rust and dent free GL hatch , with all the toys ..heated window , washer ,wiper .

I took all the harness and washer pump and switches and anything that I thought should go with it ..$100.00

I installed it at the yard and left mine there :lol: :lol:

Someday someone will see my old hatch with all the stickers on it .

It had a BIG FF.com decal , a DJ in memory of decal , and a FMS decal on it .

It lays in a J/Y East of Colorado Springs ,Co.
