i was thinking of making fiber glass fenders with fender flairs. i dont think it would be any lighter because the use thin sheet metal. but it might be stronger and be harder to dent. im in the middle of making a body kit for the festy so ill probly try some fenders too... i just need a festy

been planing on it, have some FG for making the molds, haven't had time and the cold weather doesn't help much either! I was going to make some that were radius-ed (round instead of flat across the top of the wheel well) and perhaps a small fender flare, and maybe some vents (mostly for folks running BPT's and the like with over-heating problems). Just need time and to pick up a few more supplies!

Going to use a stock fender as the plug and make a FG mold to go around it, plaster or papermache molds won't last long if you plan on making more than one. After a FG copy of the stock fender is made, that can be cut/molded into whatever shape you want for a variation on the stock fender and another mold must be made in order to produce multiple identical copy's of the modified one. Lots of work but thats the easiest way to reliably make a bunch of copies that i know of.

use that green potting stuff you stick flowers in to make the fender flairs out of. Glue some big blocks of it to the oem fender with hot glue and carefully sculpt it with heavy grit sandpaper ona belt sander.

DJ made a wide-body fender flare out of fiberglass. It looked really good! Unfortunately, I don't think he ever got around to making the other side.
