  • FLAMES!!!

ok...here is a trick my uncle tought me.
i put a sunroof in my 90 festy (never had one so i had to cut it out) thus cutting my headliner. i cut the hole in the head liner a little too big so i had to go back and paper mashay (cant spell it) around the sunroof and trim it all up to fit snug. now for the cosmetic part. i took my headliner down and debated for a while about what to do to make it look better. i got ahold of some 3/4" soft foam polly from my uncle (have no clue where you can get it if you want to do this) i laid it out on my headliner and drew flames on it (just regular "hot rod" flames) i then cut the flames out of the foam....all one piece by the way. i stripped my old headliner lineing off. i bought a cheep can of spray glue and sprayed my headliner where the flames were going and placed the flames on the headliner. (**NOTE below**) then i sprayed the entire headliner and foam flames and covered it with a dark blue felt. the finished product......i have 3D flames in my headliner that look realy sweet!!!!!!

NOTE: to make the flames flow better with the headliner....after you have your flames cut out...take a SHARP razorblade and make a 45* cut around the entire edges of the flames to kinda round things off a bit

if you want to do this to your headliner and dont understand what i wrote ^ there...email me and il try to do better

you dont have to do flames by the way. my uncle did a verry intricate ford logo in his 58 ford pickup

    sorry so long

Hope the cheap spray glue you used wasn't to cheap because in the hot sun it may fall down.

        Thanks
