  • Steering Wheel Swap question

This question is really going to show my ignorance.

Are steering wheels between different makes and models of cars easily swapped? Is it a universal fit or are they make or model specific?

typically brand specific at minimum, many can be model or line specific.

You would be better with Mazdas...I just put an RX7 one on mine and I have one from a 323 or a 626 on my other car.

I might end up doing that, but was hoping to have ford on the steering wheel and not mazda. Just my preference i guess.

So if you wanted to go with an aftermarket wheel then you would get a hub adapter for a RX7, 323, 626 or early gen Probe(what yrs?)?

I found a 1996 mazda 626 that a guy is parting out... no hub adapter will be needed to go on my festy?

I used the leather steering wheel out of a mid 90's protege DX. It has no buttons on the steering wheel so it worked perfect with the festiva. It looks alot like the steering wheel in my mx-3 except my mx-3 has cruise control.
