From what I have read, HIDs are illegal for street use on vehicles that are not factory installed. You may have to pull yourself over Doug and give yourself a ticket! :dontknow:

I have had Silverstars and the Ultras ,

There is no comparison AT ALL !!

Everybody next to me in their new cars looks like they have candles for headlights .

Karl.. the lower Kelvin number the more white they are , Higher number adds more color .
They offer a 30,000K , but that takes away the brightness .
They say not to go above 8000K .
They do have a blue tint from the side , but hold your hand in front them and they are white as a plasma .
They have been in since last Tuesday , and I have still not had anyone flash me .
I think these are a very safe system to have , YOU CAN SEE and people see YOU .
Just point them down , that is all .
I found out last night that these have no filament ? CRAZY :laughing6::laughing6:

                Thanks Will

Well, mine finally posted today... So, if I go off of the status from your lights, I've got about 5 days until they clear customs.

I agree... I've got a friend who is running a set of HIDs in his Cavi... My Silverstars are like NOTHING compared to those.

yup, That's basically what HID means. High Intesity Discharge. The bulb contains an inert gas, like Xenon, and some electrodes. A high voltage current is applied to the electrodes, but the gap between the electrodes prevents the current from conducting. If a reactive gas (oxygen) was present, the gas would oxidize, and permit an arc to form between the electrodes. With an inert gas, the high voltage (potential for current flow) causes the gas molecules to become excited, to the point they begin to irradiate visible light. The blend of various inert gases is what determines the color temperature. This is very similar to how the Aurora Borealis occurs, charged solar particles exciting stratospheric gases into a plasma state.

                      SWEET !!
So that is why they are 23,000 volts , to ignite the gas and that explains why the look like being lit with a plasma .

Then I'll wait for the Aurora Borealis light package for my entire car.

I take it I may need a battery upgrade for that. Anyone selling a used diesel/electric submarine?

These pull only 2.4 amps as to the stock system is pulling around 5.3 amps .
                          less than half .

When the lights are on and the car is off , I noticed when you start it , the lights do not dim at all.

                            Still in transit here... :-P

I've got to figure out how I'll hook this "directly to the battery", since my battery is relocated to the trunk. But, that should be an easy fix.
