The approvals, in this case, are meaningless. They mean that the bulb itself is approved for use in a housing designed for use with HID bulbs. Running them in a non-HID housing is illegal.

Further to this point, if the bulbs fit into your stock housings without any modifications, then the approvals are completely bunk. HID bulbs are designed with a (slightly) different base than halogens to prevent installation into non-HID housings. If a bulb is produced in this manner, then the approvals are faked. (What more could we expect of a Chinese manufacturer, though?)

Now that's out of the way. They look great! I am glad to see you adjusted your lights down somewhat. Most people aren't nearly as considerate as that. (as long as they look cool, who cares?)

The question I have is why are they illegal? It could be that our laws just dont' cover this type of modification. Or it could be there is some safety hazard.

Any conjecture? How's the heat put out by these things? Higher or lower or the same?

I got them yesterday... I did the bulb install last night and ran a few wires today... But I really need to find where I want to do the final install.

They'll be in before the weekend though... and I'll need to do some major adjustments so I'm not blinding everyone. I did a "quick wire job" just to see how they're going to look? Mmmm! I can't wait.

How long was it from the day you ordered to the day they arrived at your door? I'm hoping mine will get in before next Monday. Seems unlikely..but you never know.

Simon, when you get them in, how bout your impressions of them vs the H4 in the DA headlights? I know they are a great improvement over stock.

As Doug posted... The difference is night and day really... The Silverstars in the Pride headlights before hardly light the road (partially because of being aimed weird)... But - These light REALLY well, and by REALLY, I mean a LOT of light...

I'll get pics shortly once I finish the wiring stuff.

As for how long they took... I ordered Saturday night (the 19th) - Got my e-mail that I forgot to include my bulb type, #, and phone number on Sunday morning... So - they shipped Sunday ("here" time)... And I received them this past Monday, the 28th.

So - Figure about a week and a day from when you order?

Pride headlights? Are the Pride headlight casings more clear or something? Now I'm worried that they won't look good in my stock headlight casings
