  • Do you have a pic of the box , or a pic of all that was included .

I would move it , if it is close to the radiator .

I thought for sure it would still have a harness for the ground for both lights .

    • How about a picture of the install job? I mounted mine back right before the strut towers on the sides... I've not encountered any problems with mine kicking off...

          • I disabled the DRL's..it was just some connector in the top-middle of the firewall.

I'll try and take some pictures tomorrow if I get a chance..I've just been so busy with work.
As for a bad ballast..I would doubt it...but I could always switch the ballasts around to see.

I really did not like those flimsy bracket straps they have in that kit .

                    • Doug - That's why I mounted it directly there instead of having them hang off like you and Unicorn did... Besides, at least I know they're not moving anywhere.

tunner - That's just the + and - for the bulb... Doug and I have a seperate set of wires that run in there as well for the high and low beams.

Very clear and sharp , I mean unbelievable !! I was so happy when I lit them for the first time .

I can see so much farther down the road on low beam , I rarely see me using the high .

I have drove at night for the last 3 days and have not had 1 person flash me .

I did adjust them down a little .

I just cannot believe how pure the light is , I just love the color , the video does not do it any justice .

I really think the H/L on our cars work better with these than some , I am just saying that from some of the comments I read about the lighting being all over , it is not that bad .
I plan on painting a small white brow on the upper portion of the lens to keep the light down .
It is so funny to hear people talking about the lights already , like WOW look at those

Simon ..I got that 2nd set taken care of through a mutual agreement , with the seller and eBay . So I did not get it , they realized it was a mistake .

I am going to purchase a set of 9006 for the Cadillac .

I'm also running HID 8000k Hi/Lo kits and i think its a great investment for you guys esp like how fast your cars are, you need to have enough visual distance, i.e. you should be able to identify objects from far out. i also don't use the Hi beam unless i'm on a country road.

I may be interested some day, as long as they don't attract undue attention. I don't want the "blue tint" look nor do I want anything that would blind others.

As far as legality is concerned, well, I bought a set of Cibie Z-Beams (early halogen lights with removeable bulbs--non sealed beam) for my Chevette "back in the day." I made sure they didn't blind oncoming drivers (the "Z" cutoff worked well) and didn't care about what the law said. From what I read back then, the law required "sealed" beams and did not take into account the newer technology. In the old days, non sealed beams tended to get rusty reflectors and that's why the law was passed. My brand new Cibies did not have rust problems! Besides, they were legal in Europe!

Shortly thereafter, Cibie came out with the "BOBI" sealed halogens, and the rest of the U.S. headlight industry began catching up with the times.

If the HIDs offer improved vision without the blue tint, then I will eventually go that way.

Car companies are already working on LED headlights too, though. We'll see what happens in that direction!

BTW, I bought my Cibies at J. C. Penney catalog distribution center at a real nice price. Same place I bought my Gerber Mk. II fighting knife, believe it or not! Ah, the old days...

                              Karl

i would recommend 35W Hid kits the 55W and up gives too much light, also don't buy outside of the range 6000k to 8000k since above 8000k the light colour only change, you will not get more light, 12000k the light is more purple. 6000k is pure white light, while 8000k have a small hue of blue in it. i have mine for nearly to years now with now trouble with the law (Jamaican laws might be different from US still) still going on the first set of bulbs.

                              • Unicornasaurus, i would recommend turning the connectors down, sometimes water can get inside and shorts out the ballast.
