    Aspire Cruise

    Anyone have a pic of the speed sensor for the cruise control from a 95 Aspire. My donor car has cruise in it and I would like to put it in the festiva. The wire has a plug on the end of it but I can not find anything to plug it back into. Its a 2 wire black rubber plug with an exposed male side and a female side that drops down near the transmission. The install looks pretty straight foward, but if anone has any diagrams that would be helpful also.

    If its the same as the festiva the speed sensor should be inline with the spedo cable.

      Aspires never came stock with cruise, it must be an after market job, so that might make it a little harder.

        If it is aftermarket it looks very factory. Very clean install with second stalk behind the headlight switch. Wimpy factory type rivets and all.
        I will have to look at the speedo cable again. I was just expecting a magnet and coil down on one of the axles.

          Oh, and the black brain box is a ford part also.

            Ahhh I remember the spedo cable had a second joint in it. Could this be the sensor location or do all the Aspires have a 2 part speedo cable?

              It might be dealer installed. The Festiva cruise was dealer installed, and it too has a black box. I have one somewhere around her.

                Yes, from what I've read here all Aspires had two piece speedo cables. Some folks use them as an upgrade for their Festivas.

                  Yep, 2 piece speedo cable. Still no idea on the speed sensor. Does anyone have a pic of the one (sensor and plug) off of a Festiva? or a part # or a spare for sale? :-) Might be the same.

                      whats a good deal on aftermarket cruise control systems? whats the difference in an electronic one and vacuum one?
