ok...my system rattles everything in my car. its so anoying. those little black weather-stripping pieces, where the bottom of the windows meet the doors, rattle the most. anything i can do to get them to shut up!?! and what is the purpose of dynamat anyway, reduce outside noise, or make what you have sound better? and i saw someone use some kinda window or roofing material instead....does it work the same? :?:

dynamat is a sound deadener, it will make your car alot quieter and any metal panels that are rattling will stop. you could use roofing stuff...but it wouldn't work as well and weighs more. just shop around and you'll find a good deal on some bulk dynamat, luckily our cars are nice and small, you can do 2 layers for the price of one in most cars.

AFAIK, MFM doesnt weigh more than Dynamat.. and Dynamat isn't that much better either.. don't believe the hype.. I have compared them side by side.. And can't tell a real difference. So, let's see 50sqft of MFM for 21.00+ compared to 36sqft of Dynamat for 249.00... no brainer..

too much uncessary weight to add IMO>

if shit is rattling, rip it out! Gut the interior and save some weight to negate the heavy ass system you put in your car that is slowing you down and messing up your fuel econ.

              A MEN

I just pulled out everything that would unbolt. Only thing that rattles now is my drivers window because the seal is missing.

EDIT: Oh, and that @$^@$ fuel door, but it's days are numbered.

Festivas were not built to sound like a Lexus when you close the door, but sound dampening helps allot..

Rattleing parts were never the reason I put it in any car.. ambient road noise is.

When you can hear the small rocks hitting the fender wells when driving through gravel, you need sound dampening and/or a good undercoating.

Quiet and Fast don't go together when it comes to Festivas.. unless you weld the doors closed, take the mirrors and wipers off, they'll all be flappin' at 100 anyways..
