Wow that tune up was over due. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor were all in the car when I bought it two years and about 10,000 miles ago. Redford was starting to idle a little rough but seems to run great. The plugs were so old the electodes were eroded away and my plug gap was 069. Thats a 037 and a 032 in the gap. Id been putting it off since steel plug threads and aluminum heads scare me esp when Im sure no antisieze was used when they were installed. Ive been PB blasting them once a week for about a month. They came out real nice. Anyway I think I fixed the rough idle problem.

Yes, and it does run ALOT smoother. It gets bad so gradually you never really notice. Im going to have to do a new MPG test. Always freaks me out pulling old plugs out of alum. heads. I alway antisieze mine but I didnt put those plugs in.

What is the purpose of antisieze?

It keeps the plug threads from seizing in the head. You can buy a little pack for $1 enough to do a couple of plug changes. Its good to use in other places too. Great product.

buy a bottle from the parts store (it never goes bad)
its good to use in conjunction with No Squeak on your brakes - lube the sliders with never sieze and spray the back of the pads with the no squeak
its good for bolts else where to the you may have to take apart in the future
JUST DONT PUT IT ON YOUR LUG NUTS! I've seen people loose wheels from that

I checked around about getting Junkyard aspire seats professionally cleaned. Most places wanted $50 if I brought the seats in. I was messing around today and decided to try an old Bissel power steamer the parent inlaws dropped off at my place years ago. Ive cursed it for years because its always in my way out in the garage. I knew it was broken so I never used it. Well after the $50 quotes I worked on it today and fixed it. I used it on the aspire seats and was surprized at how good a job it did. Id already cleaned the seats once with some spray on stuff from the auto store but the steam cleaner got out a lot more dirt. The seats look good and now I have a festiva seat and carpet cleaning machine.

I've pulled the upholstry off of the frames and tossed in the washing machine on the delicates cycle. Worked great.
