  • spare tire cover

Does anyone have any Ideas on some kind of material that could be used to cover the spare tire? Because the cheap crap that the old one is made of is all bowed and falling apart. I was looking for something that's not very heavy and about as thick as the old one but a lot stronger any suggestions are welcome. Thanks :?:

i agree with crypto...go out around 330 am and either wiggle the entire pole outa the ground or bring some wrenches and snatch that sign. i did a while back...ended up makin a table outa it for my xbox steering wheel.

I used almost the same material as the stock and painted it with ruberized undercoating with the rest of my car, go to Home depot, its called like wafer board, or something of that sort, just a really thin wood.

I'm going to just cut and remove that piece from the car and have a plate welded in there instead.

mdf might work although it doesn't have a lot of strength for putting too much stuff on top, but if all you want is some spare clothes and a tool kit you'll be ok

The only problem with cutting out that hole is that the gas tank is right under it. Which means you have to remove the tank to do it safely

simon, just use it to mount a sub lol.

have a sheet metal plate cut to fit it, have them run some beads in it for strenght. shouldn't cost too much at a metal shop.

if you cut out the spare tyre well with a plasma cutter (which i am planning on doing as well) you need not worry about the gas tank. plasma cutter wont create enough heat outside of the blast area to rup[ture lines or anything of that sort.

although my gastank has long been removed, and an alternate fuel cell located in the front of the car so it doesnt matter too much for me.

i cut out the spare tyre well yesterday afternoon with a plasma cutter. it worked great except i got a little hung up on 1 muffler mount bracket.

next week when i get to work on the car again i am going to rivet a sheet of aluminum over the gaping hole.

you shouldnt be talking about federal offences on the open internet

if they are wooden poles backing into them with a truck works great.
