  • power windows ?'s

Looking at other mazdas, they seem to use the same set up (cable and track) for their window regulators. Has anyone used power window motors from say a 323? Any ideas?

Someone did the swap and they said it works well, aside from the window not going down 100% of the way. I think they said it was about a 1/2" of the window that still showed.

I bought a universal kit from www.autodax.com that works very well, installs easily and goes up and down the entire way. I paid under $100 and the customer service was excellent.

edit - Mine is just a motor that goes onto the stock crank and turns the crank when you push the button. My buttons cover the piece that sticks through nicely tho...

      323 power window regs

Yes, they work, and yes, the window stays up 1/4-1/2". It would be possible to get the window all the way down by lowering the regulator 1/2" by drilling new holes, but I'm lazy (obviously - I installed power windows) and used the existing holes.

        Aloha Simon,

I know the original post is from 2005. Curious, are you still running the autodax "universal power window kit" on your car? ....and if so, is it still functioning well. Would you happen to have any pictures or a write up on this install???? This universal power window kits surely appear to be an alot easier way to go.

          renny10n,
It appears jeffdjeffd does makes it back here from time to time, last activity 2/9/09 but you may want to consider PMing him as he may well miss this thread when next he logs on, due to the large number of threads that will showup as "new" for him.
