  • Installing non-oem seats --- Rail question

I've seen and read a lot of th threads on this forum about fitting aftermarket seats to festivas, but im interested to knwo how YOU went about it. Did you use the rails that came with the seats and then fabricated up different mounting points so it bolted up to where the oem festiva seats were? OR did you hack up your oem seat, take the rails/weld up some brackets, and attach them to the new seats?

Just trying to figure out the easiest way to do it, whilst being able to mount the seat as low as possible. ANy idea/input would be appreciated!

Heres the write up DJ did.

Freshtiva just did it as well I believe.

    And Wes did it here.

Myself. Im going to have to make custom brackets to install the power seats in Crusher. I already have all the old mounts cut out.

I was going to do that but the seats sat too high. So Im going to make customs to get them a little lower.

Be nice to have a list of cars that folks have found seats in that work well in a Festiva with a little work.

If shipping wasn't so expensive Doug I would pull a set from the local pull a part for you. I think they are only $20-25 per seat. I saw a good passenger one there the other day, but the driver had a hole in the left outter lumbar area. Hopefully in a couple months I will have some festiva seats reupholstered. I have the two sets that I took out of my festivas in the garage, so I am going to take them appart and do a custom job on them in a few months....when I get time:-)
