  • new steering wheel!

My original wheel had that "melting in your hands" feeling; just deteriorating badly.
So, off to Pick-a-part i went. And Look what i found, a like-new RX-7 wheel! Total cost: $11.00. What a big improvement, and it looks good with the dash too!
    Me so happy!!

If that thing just bolted-on, I'll be doing this upgrade! What year of RX-7?

not kidding when i say this; I think it took less than 3 minutes from start to finish; removing the old one, and putting on this new RX-7 wheel. So simple i wonder why i didn't do this sooner! Fits great, with no problems at all. Also i like having a big, round horn button instead of the two small "thumb" buttons the stock wheel had.

BigElCat, it was a first generation model, but i didn't bother looking at the VIN to see what year exactly. Some of the first-gen models have a four-spoke wheel, but i like this 3-spoke wheel, which also has the round "mazda" badge instead of the rectangular one.

                Great find Mark!

Mine is the 1st gen four spoked wheel. I paid about the same with no horn button or metal horn guts. Had to buy another wheel off ebay with those parts, so I'm around $50 now!

To those who want to bolt this right in: you will probably need an older turn signal assembly to go with it due to the signal stalk/wheel rim clearance. Otherwise, you'll be hitting the signal all the time.

Here's the 4 spoke....it seems to clear the signals ok....maybe a little better then the 3 spoke....it looks flatter for some reason. But I love it....

Actually no clearance problems with the stalks. There may be a difference, but i don't notice it at all.

just did a 3 spoke on mine. Love it but it is kinda close to the turn signal stalk. No biggie, just have to decide if im changing the mazda emblem.

                          What is your location?
I may be going to the JY this weekend, I'd be happy to see what I can find for you, but if you're not near CA I'm afraid that shipping costs may be too much.
