Yeah take a minute or 3 and read through those articles at the bottom. Some are real basic things and others are a bit more advanced. All the guys that wrote them up really did a great job.

I picked up a pair of plain black new mousepads at Big Lots the other day. They look kinda thin, but I can always buy two more to make them thicker. Seventy-nine cents each.

I was thinking the same thing. I would use rtv as a sealant between the two, and possibly around the outside edge.

ok,i used a roll of cork gasket, from any parts stores, 11.00 for the thick gasket.they have diffrent sizes. 1 roll will make up to 4 gaskets! so you will have a extra set to put away.(or sell lol) here are some pics. i tried to get a good side view if the thickness of it. works really well. all you need is a old gasket for template and a sharp exacto or scissors.for the screw holes just place over and press through.i didnt take pics of the finished gaskets, forgot to,i put them on after finished.lol

                        mouse pad

Another post recommended using a couple of mouse pads. Its, the perfect size and it doesn't leak. Makes perfect sense.

yea,its at the bottom of this one. mouse pads a good idia, personally id rather use the cork gasket.seems how its made for this and any other place you might need a gasket.from the roll i made 1 set of taillight gaskets and have half the roll left, wich is good icase i need to make a gasket for anything else, ill already have some.just my opinion though.
