Around 100,000 miles, I installed these gauges - Given that the factory gauges told me that I had a) hot water and b) fuel, it seemed best with an older car to keep a better eye on things.
I got them at the auto store and all I really cared about was that the installation looked neat and that they told me that the battery was charging and that I had some oil kicking around the pan.
Now that we're approaching 200,000 miles, I think some precision is needed. Has anyone found gauges that are more precise than these? I need to know the oil pressure in a range of 50-70psi and amps in a range of 15 amps either way. I doubt I will ever draw 60 amps or have 100psi of oil pressure (for very long).
Don't really want to go digital, would like to stick with round gauges - but all the ones I've found online are as imprecise as these. I might also be adding an engine temp gauge on the block.
