Im doing my car right now and some very slow razor work and the rubba wheel seem to be doing the job with no paint loss.

find the guys that do pinstriping and ask them for a removal spray i first used a hair dryer to peel pinstripes off then used the spray and it (the glue) came off with my finger nail very easy. before

usually i just use lacquer thinner, thats what we use at the race track to get the tire marks off the body, if that doesn't work i use maguires deep crystal paint cleaner. It will basically take like a layer of paint off. i know thats what i use when i have like grease stains and stuff that have been burnt into the car from sitting in the sun for serveral months, if that doesn't work probably u will just have to take it in

I gotta agree, this must be urethane. Its no mere mortal double-stick tape! I bought some 3m stuff (26 bucks a quart at Napa -- ouch) and a heatgun and plastic scrapers. My HF doesnt stock the rubber wheel pinstripe tool.

I havent posted my results yet because I havent had time to finish. I'll get a before and after pic once I get one side done. It's working, but it still sucks bad though. You need to keep soaking the gunk with the 3m and keep it wet as long as possible. a very thin layer will become soft, so you just need to repeat, and repeat and repeat and repeat. The heatgun helps. But be careful, the combo of the heat and 3m softens the paint a tiny bit, and if you scrape it you risk removing some paint. Use rags only if you are using heat. I need to get touch-up paint now

I'll follow up later with the exact 3m product I bought.
