  • Cargo Cover Hardware/Mounting Points Question

Just wondering if anyone out there in Festiva land could provide me with a pic or two of the associated hardware required and the locations of said hardware to install a OEM Cargo Cover. Since I didn't have one to take out I'm only guessing as to the way it goes in "PROPERLY"

    Thanks for your help!

      Hey Freshtiva

Do you have any better/close up pictures of the hatch cover hardware installed in a "tiva"? I can't see the actual hardware installed in your cardomain images.

Will do..I need to see all the points where the strings attach to the hatch with the hardware and where the little bar that goes through the cover intersects with the body of the car...if that makes sense.

Ok here are some shots for you. The first pic show where the pivot rod mounts. The second and third pics show where the string attachs to the hatch. The fouth and fifth pics show a clip that mounts to the hatch that catchs the trailing edge of the cover to keep it supported. The last pic shows where the second string would attach if you have the cargo cover type that has four strings instead of the two string version. Hope this helps.

Wow Fresh, pics 4 and 5 would have been a good stumper for me in the Name that Part thread. Never seen those, didn't even know they existed.

Ok..this is great! I am confused however of the vantage point for pictures 4 and 5. WHat direction are each taken from?

Oh wait..I think I got it. When the hatch closes onto the cover those clips from 4 & 5 automatically grab the cover?

I am in search of a driver side clip for the pivot rod on my hatch cover. Mine is broken. It is held in place by a small phillips screw near the speaker. Anybody have an extra or one they are not using? I am wondering if they were only installed in vehicles with the cargo cover option.

4 is the bottom edge of the hatch, near the latch. 5 is lookin' thru the hatch window.
If it don't fit, use a bigger hammer!

Frestiva, I added a cargo cover to my 90 L. When I picked it up at the JY i did not notice the added clips on the side for the 4 cord cover. Do you have a picture of the side clips taken from further back to get a little better perspective on their location(pic 5)? I went back to the JY and the car was gone so I could not get them. I am in need to the 2 side clips for the extra cords, the little spring clips that hold the metal rods in place, and the plastic clips that mount to the hatch. I will be posting a WTB add for those, but if you could post a picture of the other clips, I would really appreciate it.
                        Thanks, Brad

Sorry just now saw this. There is a small indentation where the clip fits into for the fourth string. Its just under the speaker cover. In the picture you can see the cut out where the speaker wire runs through. If this doesnt clear it up for you let me know and Ill get a better picture.
