If you are doing the painting yourself you should look into doing the $50 paint job.

The first page also has a link to the rustoleum site with the available colors. I plan on doing this when I get all the body work complete on my festy.

I just did my car in flat black, a $30 rattlecan front yard job. Figure on around 6 cans of spray paint. I just used cheap primer from Advance Auto.

If you want it flat and want to do a semi professional job. Just get hotrod flatz. You will need about 3/4 a gallon to done the whole car jambs, engine, and exterior.

quick note , i painted my 32 ford roadster in
in hotrod black by dupont only problem
with it .it is very easy to get fine scratches
in the paint and you cant rub them out
only way to remove them is a respray of the area

single stage with flatener or BC/CC with flatener in the clear. From what I've been told Hotrod Flatz is some pretty durable paint.

                  flat

I had an Iraqui Malibu which I painted flat Tan with some ordnance paint from the Hummer factory in Detroit. I should have taken a picture when it was brand new. It was magazine cover quality. Dead flat. Just like the tanks. From that point forward I called my Malibu the Desert Storm Edition. It had four speed standard on the floor + Chevy V-8. Everyone got out of the way. The stainless true dual exhaust just growled. GM made 5200 of these babies in 1981 for export to Iraq as a taxicab order, but the deal fell through. They sold new in 82 for $5000 each, first come first serve. No cat, no heater, no rear defrost, biggest air conditioner, three weird colors, standard transmission. bench seat.

Good news, since the paint absorbed radar, I never got a speeding ticket ever after the paint job.
Bad news, I still had to pay the electronic tolls because Raytheon triggers the licence plate cameras with something embedded in the ground.
