  • 180km/h speedo installed

Just installed the tach cluster I picked up on e-bay. It's white lettered and the speedo goes up to 180 km/h. I did have to switch the circuit board for one from a US tach cluster and the only glitch I see is that when the check engine light comes on it will look like I have a door left open
I'll get some pictures up in the next couple of days.

On another note... I want to change the color of the needles in the cluster from orange to white. What paint would work best?

    Cheers

      Cluster

I just received two 110mph clusters from England, and they work just fine when you change the printed board on the back. I did have to enlarge the slots for the two diodes on the housing, they're in different holes on the English version.

One time I painted my needles in a speedo I used regular spray paint on them. (removed needles, they pull off)

Thats what i had to do and i also have a "door open" light for my check engine, it's so much nicer having a tach cluster in KPH

I wonder where & what mine came off of? I didn't have to change anything...

It was an FMS ebay buy. The only issue with it is that it doesn't have a light for when my highbeams are on...

That's an early cluster. I believe the 90 and up had the white faces.

it's in KPH and KPH tach clusters were not available in Canada

it's possible the earlier prides had the same wiring?

I think it is from the early years. A couple of things I noticed... the speedo only goes up to 170 kph and the the trip odometer button is closer the the center of the cluster than on the white lettered version. My guess is Kofkof's cluster is an earlier cluster from either the Philipines or Japan.

^^I'm not so sure about that because i got a white faced 170 kph tach cluster with my red car

this is the only pic i got and since the speedo didn't read properly i gave it to a local festiva owner

                          Update with photo

Hey all, here's the photo of the 180 km/h speedo installed.

As mentioned earlier I did have to change the circuit board and I have also upgraded the light thingy from two bulbs to four (the one that comes on the non-tach cluster).

                          Cheers

I've changed clusters about 4 or 5 times now and haven't bothered to change the odometer. I've also lost track of how many kilometers are on the car anyway
