  • Lock repair

I have an 88 with a mis-matched door. The lock is broken and I would like to fix/replace it. Anyone have this done or know where to get the parts for it?

I haven't torn it apart yet but the little thing that you push down is missing. I'll look deeper this weekend.

You need a new lock cyl and the push lever. If you pull the door panel you'll see.

I was going to get a lock kit for the car so they all matched again but never got around to it.

First the rod that goes from the button has probably just disconnected from the lock cylinder.. little clip holds them together..

A bit of advice before you pay a locksmith to rebuild the lock for your key..

Take your key to a pick and pull yard and try it on all the locks on the Festivas in there, 88-93 doesn't matter.. It will probably open at least the doors on 1 of them. I have 3 Festivas.. 1 set of keys for all of them. You'll be surprised at how many Festivas your key will unlock...

My two Festy keys work in each others' doors and hatches, but not ignitions. Kinda convenient, in a way!

Oh yeah, they also work in the blue door on my white one from a third Festiva! How's that for interchangability?

It is the rod and button that are missing. Anybody know where i can get them? Junk yard?

Try the 'yard first. If nothing comes up, then maybe post your wants in our "for sale" section (these parts are easy to mail) or check with Roger at FMS.
